It detects equations rendered with KaTeX, MathJax, and native MathML. A page may use another display method, so not every visual formula on the web is necessarily available to the extension.
Is the Word Online result editable?
Copy for Word (image) is intended for a reliable rendered result in Word Online. It pastes as an image rather than as an editable equation.
